Our brand story
Since 1987, David Jones has designed bags and small leather goods in faux leather in Paris. A French house born in the Marais, with a simple idea: to make Parisian elegance accessible.
1987, rue du Temple
The brand was born in a workshop in the Marais, on rue du Temple. François, a self-taught specialist in leather goods, designed and made his models there himself, mainly in leather. Paris was then the ideal vantage point for keeping track of the trends — and the starting point for a customer base built up model after model.
From the 1990s to today: the choice of faux leather
From the 1990s, demand outstripped the capacity of the workshop. The brand then made two choices that still define it: to produce internationally, and to move from leather to faux leather. It is not a compromise, it is a deliberate decision — it allows us to offer well-made bags, in a wide range of finishes (smooth, grained, croc-effect, suede-effect, saffiano-style), at a price that stays accessible.
That is what makes the signature of the house: the diversity of materials and shapes, in the service of a value for money that our customers have recognised for thirty years.
What we do
The collection today covers the whole range of everyday uses: handbags, shoulder bags, crossbody bags, A4 format tote bags, backpacks, small leather goods and luggage. Two collections a year, spring-summer and autumn-winter, in a palette of warm neutrals and deep burgundies.
The men's line takes up the same principles in more understated formats: satchels, briefcases, laptop bags and city backpacks.
Our aim
To carry French fashion and creativity beyond our borders, keeping the elegance and refinement that characterise them. The conquering spirit of the David Jones horseman, our emblem, sums up that ambition well: to conquer Paris first, then France, then the rest of the world — where the brand is distributed today.

A well-designed bag should not be a privilege. Our models sit between €35 and €75, without giving anything up on the care taken over the finishing.
Timeless elegance
We look for silhouettes that hold up beyond a season. The shapes in the collection — trapeze, bucket, half-moon, satchel, tote — are classics that we rework rather than fashions that we follow.
